What you are looking at
A laser-welding cell — the welder in its enclosure, the fume extractor, the chiller, the touch-screen console and the workbench — modelled in Blender by Tyler Rydman for a training course at Precision Tork. No CAD came from the maker: every part was built from photographs taken on the shop floor and checked against them from matched camera positions, which are the cameras in the From the photographs list. The model moves the way the machine does — the door, the head on its three axes, the chuck, its jaws and the key that closes them — and the course's first-person walks to each start-up control were recorded in a viewer like this one. Orbit it, pose it, walk it.
